USADA Says Monzavous Edwards Accepted Two-Year Anti-Doping Sanction

The agency said the track athlete and coach helped connect Marvin Bracy-Williams with someone Edwards believed was a doctor to obtain testosterone.

On June 29, 2026, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced that Monzavous “Rae” Edwards had accepted a two-year anti-doping sanction. USADA said Edwards, who was an athlete and coach in track and field, committed a complicity violation in 2023.

USADA said Edwards introduced Marvin Bracy-Williams to a person Edwards believed was a doctor for the purpose of obtaining testosterone. That account, attributed to USADA’s anti-doping findings, formed the basis of the complicity violation.

The agency said a whistleblower reported Bracy-Williams’s testosterone use in early 2024. A targeted out-of-competition test then returned positive for an anabolic agent, and Bracy-Williams was provisionally suspended on February 5, 2024. USADA said the investigation was conducted with the Athletics Integrity Unit and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

USADA said Bracy-Williams initially attempted to tamper with the investigation, but later admitted his violations and provided substantial assistance. The agency’s account does not identify the whistleblower.

Separately, USADA said federal authorities opened a criminal investigation into Paul Askew. That case culminated in Askew’s guilty plea under the Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act on May 26, 2026. The Sunshine Sentinel, citing court documents, reported that Askew conspired with a professional track and field athlete and at least one other person from July 10, 2023, through January 31, 2024. The court-file-based reporting said the group provided the athlete with testosterone intended to improve performance at several major international track and field competitions.

Edwards’s suspension began on November 15, 2024, USADA said. He was disqualified from competitive results on and after July 11, 2023, forfeiting medals, points and prizes. USADA said it reduced the sanction because Edwards provided important assistance to the federal investigation and admitted the violation within 20 days under Code Article 10.8.1.
